Personal Note from Lisa

Hi friends,

This week marks the beginning of our second 90-day sprint here at The Dark Horse Project, and I’m feeling energized and excited about what lies ahead.

One of the biggest accomplishments of our first sprint was completing the major layout updates to the Dark Horse Network. It was a significant undertaking and required many focused hours of behind-the-scenes work to rethink the platform and create a more intuitive experience for our members.

Infrastructure work is rewarding in its own way, but I’m especially excited for the shift we’re making now. With the foundational updates largely in place, we can turn more of our energy toward creating empowering content, meaningful conversations, and resources that help you move forward with your vision.

I’m also recommitting to sending Dark Horse Notes every week. This newsletter is one of my favorite ways to stay connected with all of you and to share what we’re building together.

Lisa during her 12-hour walk

During my first reset of the year, I was inspired by Colin O’Brady’s book The 12-Hour Walk and decided to try the experience for myself.

Spending an entire day walking alone gave me time to think, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.

What I love most about this idea is that you don’t need to travel somewhere far away or carve out weeks of time to gain clarity. Sometimes all it takes is walking out your front door and giving yourself the time and space to think.

I really enjoyed the walk and the clarity and inspiration it gave me.

As we begin this new sprint, I’m feeling grateful, focused, and more convinced than ever of the vision we are building together.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Cheering you on,
Lisa

The New Dark Horse Network Layout Is Live

If you log into the Dark Horse Network this week, you’ll notice a completely redesigned home screen.

The updated layout is cleaner, simpler, and more focused, making it easier to navigate the platform and stay connected with the content and people that matter most.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll begin rolling out new empowering content throughout the Network, including insights, tools, and conversations designed to help you gain clarity, build momentum, and bring your vision to life.

This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to continue refining the experience as the community grows.

Empowering Thought

New Beginnings Start with Intentional Resets

There is something powerful about a fresh start.

Whether it is the beginning of a new year, a new sprint, or simply a decision to recommit to what matters most, new beginnings give us an opportunity to pause and move forward with greater intention.

But the most meaningful beginnings are rarely spontaneous. They are often the result of an intentional reset.

A reset creates space to step back and evaluate where you are, where you want to go, and whether your current habits and actions are aligned with your vision. It allows you to release what is no longer serving you and reconnect with the goals that matter most.

This is one of the reasons the sprint-and-reset rhythm can be so effective. During a sprint, you focus your energy on a defined set of priorities and build momentum through consistent action. During a reset, you slow down just enough to reflect, recharge, and recalibrate.

Together, these two phases create a sustainable cycle of growth.

Without resets, it is easy to keep moving while gradually drifting off course. With resets, you give yourself regular opportunities to make small adjustments before they become major detours.

The beauty of a reset is that it does not require dramatic change. Sometimes all it takes is a quiet walk, an honest reflection, or a renewed commitment to your goals.

As you begin this next chapter, consider these questions:

  • What do I want to recommit to?
  • What is working well that I want to build upon?
  • What distractions or habits am I ready to release?
  • What small adjustments could create meaningful momentum?

New beginnings are not about starting over.

They are about moving forward with greater clarity, stronger conviction, and a deeper sense of purpose.

And often, that is all it takes to transform the next season into your most aligned one yet.

Resource of the Week

The 12-Hour Walk by Colin O’Brady

This week’s recommendation is inspired by a powerful exercise Lisa completed during her first reset of the year.

In The 12-Hour Walk, Colin O’Brady invites readers to spend twelve uninterrupted hours walking alone without digital distractions. The concept is simple yet profound: create space for reflection, clarity, and a deeper connection to your goals and values.

One of the most compelling aspects of this practice is its accessibility. You don’t need to travel somewhere far away or set aside weeks of time to experience meaningful insight. Sometimes the path to greater clarity begins by simply stepping out your front door and giving yourself the time to think.

For anyone seeking renewed focus and perspective, this book offers a practical and powerful reset.
