Dark Horse Notes #21
A Shared Vision for Conservation, Community & What’s Next
Personal Note from Lisa
Hi friends,
Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the Corridor Connect+ event in Ocala hosted by the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation and Horse Farms Forever. It was such a meaningful experience to spend time with people who are deeply passionate about wildlife, farm, and land conservation here in Florida.
One of the things I appreciate so much about Ocala is that there are organizations like Horse Farms Forever helping preserve one of the most important parts of this community — the land, the farms, the rural character, and the natural beauty that make this area so special.
It was wonderful seeing familiar faces, meeting new people, and being reminded how powerful it is when individuals come together around a shared vision for the future.
Events like this always reconnect me to something I believe deeply: visions only become reality when people consistently choose to protect, nurture, and recommit to them over time. Whether it’s conservation, a business, a personal goal, or a community — meaningful things rarely happen overnight. They grow because people continue showing up for them.

Finishing Touches on the New Dark Horse Project Website
Behind the scenes, we’re putting the finishing touches on the next evolution of The Dark Horse Project website before it officially goes live.
This new version is designed to create a smoother, more connected experience for our growing community. Some of the upcoming improvements include enhanced member onboarding, expanded account management features, and improved member support tools that will make it easier for members to manage their profiles, memberships, and engagement within the ecosystem.
More than just a redesign, this next phase is about creating stronger infrastructure to support collaboration, communication, and long-term growth across The Dark Horse Project community.
We’re excited to share more soon and incredibly grateful for everyone growing alongside us as the vision continues to evolve.
Empowering Thought
Vision Requires Recommitment
Big visions are rarely built through one burst of inspiration.
More often, they’re built through consistent recommitment over time.
Every meaningful vision — whether it’s protecting land, building a business, creating a healthier life, strengthening a community, or pursuing personal growth — will eventually encounter obstacles, delays, uncertainty, or seasons of slower progress. That’s normal. Growth is rarely linear.
What separates lasting visions from abandoned ones is often the willingness to reconnect to the deeper purpose behind the work.
Recommitment doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s simply choosing to keep showing up. Revisiting the mission. Making the next phone call. Taking the next small step. Adjusting the strategy without abandoning the vision itself.
At The Dark Horse Project, we believe alignment and momentum are created through intentional recalibration. The most sustainable progress happens when people regularly pause, reflect, and consciously choose to move forward again with clarity and purpose.
Visions evolve. Strategies adapt. Timelines shift.
But when the foundation is meaningful enough, the vision remains worth returning to.

What would recommitting to it actually look like this week — not perfectly, but intentionally?

The 2028 Vivid Vision of The Dark Horse Project
This week, we’re revisiting one of the foundational documents behind everything we’re building: the 2028 Vivid Vision for The Dark Horse Project.
A vivid vision is more than goal-setting. It’s the practice of clearly articulating where you’re going before you arrive there — creating alignment, clarity, and momentum around a future that feels meaningful and intentional.
One of the reasons vivid visions are so powerful is that they give people something to continually reconnect to during periods of growth, uncertainty, or recalibration. They act as a compass when distractions and challenges arise.
As you reflect on your own goals and future this week, consider this question:
If you fully articulated the life, business, community, or impact you want to create over the next several years… what would it look like?
Wrapping Up!
Thanks for reading Dark Horse Notes. We’re so glad you’re here.
Feel free to pass it along to someone who could use a little encouragement, clarity, or momentum this week. You can invite them to subscribe here: newsletter.dhpcolab.com
